Eyebrow Lamination Aftercare

Eyebrow Lamination Aftercare

Client aftercare is crucial for ensuring that the hairs do not become damaged and that we do not disturb them in maintaining their new shape and structure. The recommended downtime period after eyebrow lamination is 48 hours. Warm temperatures or contact with warm water could disturb the pH of the hair and the disulphide bonds, causing the hair’s structure to change, or causing the hairs to become dry if the cuticles lift and moisture is therefore leaked and lost. Cold water is not an issue (heat and steam are).

Advised Aftercare

1. Do not wet the eyebrows for 48 hours.

2. Avoid makeup and skincare products in the area for 48 hours.

3. Avoid steamy conditions for 48 hours, including the bath and shower.

4. Avoid hot conditions for 48 hours.

5. Avoid sweating for 48 hours.

6. SET WHEN WET: Brush the brows into shape when they are wet so that they maintain their new shape, otherwise, they may curl and become unruly.

7. Use the Buff Browz Aftercare Serum after the initial 48-hour downtime period every morning and night to replenish and nourish the hairs.

Hot conditions and UV exposure will dry the hairs out and also lighten the colour if a stain or tint has been used.

Clients must be aware of this so that they understand that they are responsible for any damage to the eyebrows, or poor longevity if they go on holiday for example after eyebrow lamination. If they are due to be exposed to these particular conditions, the Buff Browz Aftercare Renew Oil will be more crucial than ever.

Stain and Lamination Aftercare

The aftercare for a client who has had a combination treatment and has had both a lamination and a stain performed will need to follow stricter aftercare to boost the longevity of the stain grab. Both skin preparation and aftercare work in unison together for optimum results.

Clients should avoid products on the brows that contain actives or exfoliating ingredients post staining, as this will lift any stain off the skin.

The very top layer of skin will shed, and some clients skin will shed sooner than others. Using an oil that is appropriate for both the hair and skin is crucial in this situation. The perfect blend of oils will benefit the hair, and will feed the lipid skin barrier and slow down the shedding of the skin... this will not only brighten the stain and make it appear more vivid, but it will also slow down the rate of shedding.
