key features
- A TGA-based formula enriched with nutrient-dense ingredients that aren’t typically found within other TGA systems, helping to maintain and support hair health.
- Ideal for the use of eyebrow lamination and classic lash lifts.
- Delivers flawless lift while protecting the integrity of every hair
step 1
Key Ingredients:
Hydrolysed Sweet Almond Protein: Rich in amino acids, this protein helps strengthen hair, improve elasticity, and enhance smoothness and shine.
Hydrolysed Wheat Protein: Penetrates the hair shaft to reinforce structure, increase volume, and improve moisture retention.
Vitis Vinifera Seed Extract: A potent antioxidant that helps protect hair from environmental stressors while supporting strength and vitality.
Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract: Stimulates and supports hair health while providing antioxidant and soothing properties for the skin.
Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Leaf Extract: Known for strengthening and revitalising hair, helping to support healthier-looking growth.
Symphytum Officinale (Comfrey) Leaf Extract: Soothes and conditions both hair and skin, helping to maintain comfort during chemical services.
step 2
Key Ingredients:
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice: Provides intense hydration and soothing benefits, helping to calm the skin and support hair health.
Butylene Glycol: A humectant that attracts moisture, improves skin and hair hydration, and enhances ingredient penetration.
Panthenol (Provitamin B5): Strengthens and conditions hair, improves elasticity, and helps retain moisture for a smoother, healthier appearance.
Hydrolysed Collagen: Forms a protective film over the hair, improving softness, elasticity, and moisture retention.
Apigenin: A flavonoid antioxidant that helps protect hair follicles from oxidative stress and supports overall hair vitality.
Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1: A peptide complex known to support hair strength, density, and anchoring within the follicle, promoting healthier-looking hair.
Caffeine: Energises hair follicles and helps support stronger, more resilient hair while improving the appearance of fullness.
Oleanolic Acid: Helps support scalp balance and hair anchoring, contributing to stronger-looking hair over time.
Hydrolysed Wheat Protein: Penetrates the hair shaft to reinforce structure, improve elasticity, and enhance volume.
step 3
This lightweight, water-based conditioning formula provides hydration, strength, and a flexible hold to support the new shape and structure of the brows and lashes. Sodium hyaluronate and glycerin deeply hydrate, while panthenol conditions and improves manageability.
Powered by biotinoyl tripeptide-1, the formula supports strength, with vitamin E offering antioxidant protection. A smooth gel texture ensures easy application and long-lasting definition.
timings
When it comes to lamination, understanding your client’s hair type is crucial. It takes experience to successfully assess the different hair types and, therefore, what timings to use
Using Manufacturer Timings as a Guideline:
While manufacturer timings offer a great starting point, they are not a one-size-fits-all solution. As a trained artist, you must observe and respond to how the hair is reacting in real time.
Visual cues over timers:
Developing this skill will elevate your artistry, reduce risk, and ensure every treatment is fully personalised for optimal results.
Understanding Processing Times and Real-Time Assessment
Processing times will vary from client to client. This variation depends on factors such as:
- Hair thickness, density, and porosity
- The client's natural growth pattern
- The results they wish to achieve
Gone are the days of passive processing. Active assessment is essential to achieve safe, effective, and consistent results.
Why Visual Assessment Matters
Eyebrow lamination:
During Step 1, it’s crucial to regularly check the hair’s movement.
- If you're nearing the end of your guided timing and several hairs are still not relaxed or flat to the skin, they require additional processing time.
- If just a few stubborn hairs lift away from the skin after Step 1 is removed, you may need to apply a “spot lamination.”
Eyelash Lifting
How to Visually Assess Lash Processing During Step 1
The most effective way to assess the breakdown of disulphide bonds is through a gentle bend test using a pointed tweezer:
- Select a lash midway along the length.
- Gently bend the lash downwards.
What to look for:
- If the lash forms a "U" shape, it is under-processed and requires more time.
- If the lash bends into a "V" shape with a clear kink, it indicates that the disulphide bonds have broken down sufficiently, and the lash is ready for the next step.
Guided Timings
Lash Lifting
FINE LASHES: 5-7 MINUTES
NORMAL LASHES: 7-9 MINUTES
COURSE LASHES: 9-11 MINUTES
Lamination
FINE: 4-5 MINUTES
NORMAL: 5-7 MINUTES
COARSE: 8-10 MINUTES
The timings will differ if a film or wrap is applied.
PLEASE NOTE: Step 2 always mirrors the timings used for Step 1
tga vs cysteamine
The two ingredients serve the same purpose but have completely different structures and affect the hair's anatomy in opposite ways. But overall, they both increase the pH of the hair to an alkaline region, open the cuticle and break the disulphide bonds.
TGA
Stronger and faster-acting, a TGA formula s an excellent choice for coarse, stubborn hair types.
It is great for confident, experienced artists who understand how the product and hair behave and work together in unison for optimal results.
Ideal for downward-growing or coarse lashes; TGA effectively restructures hair to hold a completely opposing shape and structure for extended periods of time.
TGA has a minimal reaction rate.
CYSTEAMINE
Cysteamine is a less invasive ingredient.
It is a derivative of cysteine, which is the amino acid that makes up 18% of the keratin protein structure. Therefore, it has a strong ability to increase the strength of the hair structure whilst in use.
It is generally a slower processing ingredient.
Cysteamine does have a higher reaction rate and can irritate sensitive skin types. Client’s can develop an allergy to cysteamine over time.
The two active ingredients behave differently and each has its own pros and cons. It’s important to note that neither provides nourishing or infusing benefits on a solo basis; these come from the additional ingredients in the formula. All Buff Browz and Buff Lashes systems are enriched with nutrients and botanical extracts to help maintain the integrity and health of eyebrow hairs and eyelashes.
When choosing a system, focus not only on the active ingredient (TGA or Cysteamine) but also on the additional nourishing components for optimal results. Selecting between TGA and Cysteamine ultimately comes down to the artist’s preference and experience.
